Seller address must contain street name (BT-35), building number (KSA-17), postal code (BT-38), city (BT-37), district (KSA-3), country code (BT-40). For more information please access this link: https://splonline.com.sa/en/national-address-1/
What does this mean?
The Authority requires six elements in the seller address: street name (BT-35), building number (KSA-17), postal code (BT-38), city (BT-37), district (KSA-3) and country code (BT-40). One missing element triggers this code.
The right source for these elements is the national address from Saudi Post, not the address written on the commercial registration — the latter usually gives neither the district nor the building number.
Why does it happen?
Ordered from the most common to the least — your cause is most likely the first or the second.
- The district is missing; the most common gap, because it does not appear on most commercial documents.
- The building number is missing, or written inside the street text.
- Using a PO box instead of a national address.
-
The country code written as
KSAinstead of the ISO codeSA. - The address filled in Arabic in one field and in English in another, so one of the two stays empty.
How to fix it
2 steps, then send the invoice again.
-
1
Take the national address in full
The national short address gives you all six elements together: building number, street, district, city, postal code and the additional number. See the national short address: what it is and where to find it.
-
2
Check the lengths before you send
The building number is four digits (
BR-KSA-37), the postal code is five digits (BR-KSA-66), and the country code isSA. Those are three separate codes, and they are usually raised alongside this one.
This code does not block acceptance, so the invoice you have is compliant. Correct the data so the warnings disappear from future invoices.
Does ZATCA Tools prevent it?
Yes. ZATCA Tools asks for all six address elements while you set up the establishment and checks their lengths, so the setup cannot be completed with an incomplete address.
