Frequently asked questions

Seller: name, VAT number, CR and the national address fields. Buyer: name, VAT number or another identifier with its type, and address. The invoice number, issue date and time, and supply date. The lines, total before VAT, VAT rate and amount, total including VAT, and the QR code.

A simplified invoice needs no buyer details and no supply date. The rest is shared: the seller's details, the invoice number, date and time, the lines and amounts, and the QR code.

The fields are necessary, not sufficient. In Phase 2 the invoice is digitally signed with your establishment's certificate, carries the previous invoice's hash and a counter, and is cleared by or reported to ZATCA. No Word or Excel template does that.
